My name is Gio, and I’m 21 years old. I was born in Brazil, and my love for makeup began when I was just 6 years old. Back then, I would play with my mom’s and stepmother’s makeup, experimenting with it on myself. By the time I turned 9, my passion for makeup had really taken root, and I began practicing more seriously, watching YouTube videos to learn new techniques.
When I was 12, I moved to the United States, where I had better access to makeup. At 13, people started noticing my skills—my mom’s friends and my own friends loved the looks I created and often asked me to do their makeup. At 14, I officially began working with makeup, creating my portfolio, and building a clientele.
At 16, my mom signed me up for a master makeup course, which was the best thing she ever did for me. I learned so much from that course and even earned my certification. Ever since, I’ve been dedicated to expanding my portfolio, studying new techniques, and growing as a makeup artist.
Now, at 21, I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished, though I know there’s still so much more to learn. But I’m excited for what’s next in this journey.
